First Day of School - McKinney

Well - last week McKinney started his last year of preschool at Celebration Academy. I can not imagine what life will be like with two in "big school" next year, so for now I will enjoy this last year of "babyhood".
By the way - he woke up this morning and said "I can't wait to go to school and see Gretta" (see the post below for more details about this).

These boys love each other!

This year the school for some reason wouldn't let us walk the kids to class the first day, so I had to drop him at the door, but at least I got this picture.

Love notes

Well at the tender age of 4 (almost 5) it begins. McKinney is definitely my little lover boy. He always has girls around him & he certainly has the gift of flattery. He has definitely stolen my heart long ago & now, it seems, he has stolen Gretta's.

Last Wednesday when I went through his school bag this is what I found....

So, being a female myself & knowing she would be expecting a note in return I asked him if he would like to write her a note back. He has NEVER & I repeat NEVER been the least bit interested in practicing writing his letters..... until Wednesday afternoon. So he told me what he wanted to write and I wrote it on a piece of paper and then helped him to write it himself on a different piece of paper. He formed all the letters himself after practicing first and I think his response was perfect!!

Here is a picture of McKinney and Gretta from last year.
And so it begins. Look out girls - this little boy is quite a ladies man!!

Out to Lunch at WJPS

A few weeks ago I took the boys out to lunch.... at Rebekah's school!!! They had a blast. McKinney thinks he is so big when we go to eat with her. He goes through the line & get his tray, milk, and lunch just like the big kids. He will be a pro next year when he starts kindergarten :(
This picture really struck me. Micah looks soooo big sitting at the lunch table. He sat there the entire time and ate more of his lunch than any other child at the table. I can't believe how quickly they grow up. It is times like these when I realize that they are literally growing up before my eyes.

The boys at the end of the table loved playing with Micah. They kept playing games with him & he had them all laughing. They were doing "funny" things and trying to get him to copy them.
