Choose Life

On January 22, 1973 the infamous Roe v. Wade decision was handed down from the Supreme Court making abortion legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy for any reason or no reason at all. The pro-life issue has always been a passion for me & one that I hope to pass on to my children. One way I hope to do this is by taking them with me every year to Together For Life at the Georgia Capitol. This is a memorial service for the more than 50 million unborn babies that have lost their lives to abortion. We also participate in a silent walk around Atlanta. We usually have around 5,000 + in attendance. My parents used to check me out of school in order to take me to TFL & I now do the same with my children. Here are a few pictures from this year's service.

Throughout the walk there are trumpeters along the route playing tapps. This lady is there every year. It always moves me to see her because she always has her children with her. Last year it was raining & the baby on her back was an infant. She was wearing him in an infant carrier while her husband held an umbrella over them. What love & dedication to this thankless cause!! I applaud her & pray blessings over her & her family.

Please visit http://www.supportpersonhood.com/ to give one of these 50 million an identity that they all deserve.

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants." Deuteronomy 30:19

Micah is Growing Up & Pulling Up

Over the past month, Micah has really begun to change. He is growing everyday & not just his size (although that is happening too). First, he now takes a bottle at every feeding & Rebekah and McKinney are loving feeding him.
After weeks of trying - he is finally pulling up. His first time, he was playing in my bathtub while I was getting ready to go somewhere. I turned around & he was standing in the tub. I was so excited I ran & grabbed the camera.

One of Micah's favorite pastimes....

Christmas Eve & Christmas Morning

On Christmas Eve the kids get new PJ's from Mommy & Daddy. They looked adorable & were ready to get to bed so Santa could come!

This year McKinney's friend, Hayden, gave him some magical reindeer food (this consisted of oatmeal & sugar). You were to throw it out on the lawn and it would attract the reindeer to your house. The kids loved putting the "reindeer food" out & we will most definitely do this again next year!!

All day Rebekah was checking the NORAD Santa Tracker on the computer. This is one last look before bed to see if Santa was in Georgia yet.

Rebekah's gifts from Santa: Polly Pocket Plane with lots of Polly accessories, roller blades, and a white poodle Webkin.

McKinney's gifts from Santa: A workshop, the GeoTrax airport with remote control airplane, and an Orca Whale Webkin.

Micah's gifts from Santa: A giraffe ball toy, the Hide Inside surprise toy, and a fun crib toy.

Later in the afternoon, Robbie's family joined us for a wonderful meal & more presents!! Unfortunately, because I was busy getting everything ready for dinner, I forgot to take any pictures. The picture below was e-mailed from Robbie's Mom.

Christmas Eve at Pop & Gaga's

I love Christmas Eve!! We spend the entire day at my parent's house with the whole family. It is a fun time of lots of kids, noise, and memories!!

One of my favorites is when my brother goes to the piano & plays Christmas songs. The little kids sing (and play) along with him. It is a great memory for me over the last several years & one I will cherish for a lifetime!!

My Aunt Connie (Mom's sister) and Micah.

The three granddaughters. This year Pop made them all cedar hope chests for Christmas. Rebekah loves hers - she says it brings her good dreams. I'll upload a picture at some point!

Everyone says Micah looks like my Dad - what do you think?

What an awesome picture. It isn't often that all of my parent's eight grandchildren are together (or willing) to pose for a picture. What a legacy my Mom & Dad are leaving behind. My Dad has prayed for all of these babies before they were ever conceived & how awesome to think he is even praying for their children!

Sick baby :(

The week before & into the week of Christmas Micah was very sick. We ended up having to take him to the ER the Saturday before Christmas to get fluids & some tests run. It was very traumatic on Micah & Mommy! They had to prick him four times before finally getting a vein in his foot that would take the IV. I snapped a picture of him in an itty bitty hospital gown before the trauma began. There is also a cute picture of him crawling into Robbie's lap & falling asleep in the cutest position!

Making Christmas Treats

The Saturday before Christmas my dear friend from high school, Carrie, came down to make reindeer & snowman "suckers" with the kids. They had a blast & enjoyed delivering the treats to family, friends, and neighbors throughout Christmas.

Rebekah worked while McKinney ate!!

Here is a picture of the final product.
