Happy Memorial Day!

Our family had a fun and busy Memorial Day today. First, we went to the church and participated in the Dacula Memorial Day parade. This event has gotten huge, with hundreds of cars, tractors, floats, horses, etc. Pop drove his Cutlass for the 1st time and had a sign on the side commemorating his service in the Vietnam War. Robbie, Rebekah, McKinney, Braxton & Amberliegh all rode with him and threw out candy to the kids along the route. Here are some pics of the morning:

Then we came back to our house and had an afternoon of swimming with Pop, Gaga and the Elkins clan. More pictures:

It was our first time in the pool this year since it has been so cool here in May, so it took the kids a little while to get in and get used to it. But as you can see, they were "flying" off the hot tub before too long:

We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day with your families!

Our Little MVP!

Wednesday, Rebekah's school had their Kindergarten Awards Program. Each of the 12 Kindergarten classes had one student chosen for the "Principal's Award" and Rebekah was the recipient for her class. We are so proud of her. Here is some video and some pictures:

Micah at 2 Months

Micah had a well child visit today with Dr. Hogan. He weighs 12 lbs. 9 oz. He is a BIG boy!! Here are a few 2 month pictures & a cute video of Micah.

McKinney's Accident

Today McKinney was visiting with Gran & Grandad & tripped & fell. Grandad called Mommy & said he thought McKinney might need a few stitches. We met at the Children's Healthcare Clinic in Gwinnett & McK. got three stitches in his elbow. Now the trick is keeping him from bending his elbow which could cause the sutures to pull out!

Georgia Tech Game

Robbie, McKinney & Rebekah had a fun evening at the Georgia Tech baseball game with Aunt Erin, Uncle Andy, Braxton & Amberleigh.

Rebekah - Little Mama!

Rebekah is really enjoying being a "sissy - mommy" to Micah. Here are some cute pictures of her "helping" Mommy.

Field Day

Rebekah had fun at Field Day, however I really think she would have preferred being in the classroom doing writing or reading. That's our girl!!

Muffins with Mom

The last few weeks of school are filled with many of great activities. One of our favorites is Muffins with Mom. McKinney made Mommy a planter with his hand prints used to make a butterfly & Rebekah made Mommy a beautiful vase ( it is really a frappuccino bottle covered with tissue paper)!! All in all the kids love having Mommy at school for this event!

Rebekah's Big Day!!

Well, today our little girl turned 6 yrs old. Hard to believe! She had a fantastic day, kicked off by a surprise when she got to school this morning. Mr. Turner, her principal, wanted her and another boy in her Kindergarten class to present their "projects" to the entire school on their closed-circuit Morning News. Apparently, it is unusual for Kindergarteners to be on. She was very excited and did a great job. Here is some video:

Then, mom drove back up to the school and brought cupcakes for the whole class:

Finally, she got her birthday present from Mom and Dad this afternoon - a new bike!

And still her main birthday party on Saturday still to go!
