Rebekah Loves a Challenge & Her Reward!!!

Okay - this year in Sunday School Rebekah is blessed to have Papa Myer as her teacher. He is wonderful. On the first week of the new SS year he told the kids that if they could say all 66 books of the Bible by memory & in order, then he would give them a Bible with their name printed on it. Well, Rebekah loves a challenge. She practiced all week & on Sunday was prepared to say them for him. **side note - she already knew most of them from Awanas. If your kids aren't in Awanas they are missing out on a GREAT program** Anyway - when we went to pick her up she was right in the middle of reciting the books for him. She never took her eyes off of his & she said all 66 perfectly!!! I had tears in my eyes. I am so proud of her & her determination to know the Bible more. She picked out a white Bible & this past Sunday Papa Myer had it ready for her. She couldn't wait to get to church to get her new Bible & we couldn't wait for her to be rewarded in this way.

Saturday at the Aquatic Center

Last Saturday we went to the new Aquatic Center in Gainesville. The kids had a blast!! Here are some pictures from our adventure.

The kids love the indoor pool that has diving boards. They were very brave. Here is Rebekah doing a cannon ball.

And McKinney diving.

Micah loved the warm pool.

Rebekah is truly a little mother to Micah.

Here is McKinney coming out of the "baby" slide.

And Rebekah trying out the "baby" slide.

Micah loved the little waterspouts.
McKinney running through the colored rings. He said this was a carwash.

And Rebekah going through the carwash.

A Little of This and a Little of That

This summer has been filled with lots of fun times & great memories. I have thrown together pictures from various things throughout the summer.
First are a few pictures of the kids with some of their cousins while visiting Pop & Gaga at their campsite.

Walker Hardman & Micah playing football. Could this be a preview of the GA vs. GT game in 18 years?
Micah loves bath time!!
Special treat for Rebekah & McKinney - eating on TV trays in our bedroom. This usually happens after I have scrubbed the kitchen floor & want it to clean for more than 5 minutes.
Does this look familiar or what?? Loves cows - just like McKinney did at this age. Looks like all those toy cows won't go to waste after all.
Thanks for the cowboy boots Mrs. Mandy!
McKinney loves it when Uncle David gets his guitar out and begins to play. I love it too!!
Micah trying to fill Pop's hat - I love this sweet baby!!!

First Day of School

What can I say? My baby girl LOVES school. Last night she had trouble going to sleep because she said she was too excited. Then, this morning, she was awake and dressed with hair fixed before her alarm clock even went off!! She loved her day. She could hardly wait to get in the car this afternoon and tell me all about Mrs. Callison and her policy of earning tickets. She was so proud that she has already earned one ticket. I have no doubt that this people pleaser will be earning many more tickets over the coming months.

Her first assignment was to complete and All About Me poster. Pretty much every answer on her poster had something to do with the library, books, reading, etc.

Mrs. Callison, thanks for being such a great teacher & taking this picture on the first day. I was delighted to see it on the class website!!

Laser Show

Last Friday night we took the kids to the Laser Show. It had been pouring rain on and off all day & we decided to give it a try anyway. We had barely gotten our chairs out when the bottom fell out & the rain began again. The kids had a good time huddling under their umbrellas & after a good downpour the skies cleared & we enjoyed a great evening!!

Tea Party

For Rebekah's first Christmas, my parents gave her a real porcelain tea set. Well the other day she had a friend over & asked for the first time ever to use her real tea set for a tea party. I was excited to get it out for her. She went to her room & came out with the doilies you see in the pictures. There were made by my great-grandmother. Rebekah keeps them in her cedar chest (made by my Dad). I have no idea what made her think of them, but I thought they made a great touch!!

Sunday Mornings

One Sunday morning we had a few minutes to spare before leaving for church & the kids looked too cute not to snap a picture.
