The 4th of July is one of the wonderful holidays we, as Americans, have the opportunity to celebrate. We count it a privilege to teach our children about their freedom & the importance of having a strong love for our country - the best place to live in the entire world!! One way we do this is by attending our communities 4th of July parade in Braselton. It encourages us to get involved in our "small town" and the kids love the parade (even though it only lasts about 15 min).
After the parade we went back to our house to enjoy a fun day at the pool with friends. The Elkins, Hardmans & Segraves came over and we had a great day. Please go to the Elkins' blog - linked from Our Friends list - to see two great videos of McKinney & his friend Zachary. You will love these videos. Thanks Allison for posting these!
Micah enjoyed his first dip in the pool!!
We topped the day off with fireworks. The Chateau Elan fireworks were beautiful, however the kids enjoyed their sparklers more than the fireworks.
McKinney is terrified of the loud noises hurting his ears, so we have to keep them covered the entire fireworks show.
Robbie and Micah were the designated "sparkler lighters".
