Batman!!

Micah has been saying a lot of words lately. My friend Christina, who is a speech therapist, says that a true "first word" is not just when the child says a sound that sounds like a word, but when they pair up the word with it's meaning. That they say something and realize what it actually means. Well a few months ago, Micah reached for a ball & said "baa". From that point on he has said Pop (my Dad), bottle, night night, and a few others. However, by far his favorite word is Batman. Anytime he sees a Batman toy, mask, or McKinney in his Batman PJ's, Micah says the word over & over. Here is a cute video of Micah & his newly discovered word.

Family Night

Some families do family game night or family movie nights, but we enjoy Karaoke Night!! There is a short video below of our fun together as a family!

Baby Girl is Growing Up

Rebekah has been wiggling & tugging for weeks at her two front teeth. The first one came out on Thursday night, I pulled the second one this afternoon. Here is the before....
And the after...

Fun at the Park

A few Saturdays ago we took the kids to a beautiful little park not far from our house. They had a great time until.....

Rebekah fell in the river. It was inevitable considering they were walking on the wet, slippery rocks. She was upset, but I managed to talk her into letting me snap a quick picture before we stripped her down for the ride home. Good times!

Choose Life

On January 22, 1973 the infamous Roe v. Wade decision was handed down from the Supreme Court making abortion legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy for any reason or no reason at all. The pro-life issue has always been a passion for me & one that I hope to pass on to my children. One way I hope to do this is by taking them with me every year to Together For Life at the Georgia Capitol. This is a memorial service for the more than 50 million unborn babies that have lost their lives to abortion. We also participate in a silent walk around Atlanta. We usually have around 5,000 + in attendance. My parents used to check me out of school in order to take me to TFL & I now do the same with my children. Here are a few pictures from this year's service.

Throughout the walk there are trumpeters along the route playing tapps. This lady is there every year. It always moves me to see her because she always has her children with her. Last year it was raining & the baby on her back was an infant. She was wearing him in an infant carrier while her husband held an umbrella over them. What love & dedication to this thankless cause!! I applaud her & pray blessings over her & her family.

Please visit http://www.supportpersonhood.com/ to give one of these 50 million an identity that they all deserve.

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants." Deuteronomy 30:19

Micah is Growing Up & Pulling Up

Over the past month, Micah has really begun to change. He is growing everyday & not just his size (although that is happening too). First, he now takes a bottle at every feeding & Rebekah and McKinney are loving feeding him.
After weeks of trying - he is finally pulling up. His first time, he was playing in my bathtub while I was getting ready to go somewhere. I turned around & he was standing in the tub. I was so excited I ran & grabbed the camera.

One of Micah's favorite pastimes....
