MVP ~ 3 Years in a Row!!

It is very rare that a student receives the Principal's Award all three years they are at West Jackson Primary School. But Rebekah, that is exactly what you have done. Your teacher told me that she tried to come up with someone else to give the award to since you had gotten it the two previous year, but there was no one as deserving as you. Keep up the good work baby girl and you will succeed at everything you attempt! We love you!

Sweet Micah

So often it seems that Micah gets left out in the blog because so many activities are for Rebekah & McKinney, so Micah - this post is all about you!! Yesterday I decided to get you ready for summer by shaving your little head. I don't have any pictures of that because Daddy was at work & I didn't want McKinney handling the camera out by the pool. Anyway - I put a little chair out in the grass and went to work. Your hair was so thick that it took Mommy a long time to get it all shaved off, but you were a real trooper. Once we were finished we celebrated with a swim in the pool to rinse all that hair off. You look so cute and I know the buzz cut will feel good this summer!! I love you sweetie.

This was right after your hair cut - you were worn out. I couldn't help but reflect on how big you looked in your bed. You will probably be moving to a big boy bed soon, so I wanted to get a picture of my last baby in his crib before the big event takes place.
Here is a cute video of you talking about your new haircut. At the time you were more interested in seeing what was on my camera, but I managed to get a few sentences out of you!

Sock Hop

Today at West Jackson Primary School we had a lot of fun. We had the AR Celebration Sock Hop. This was a party for all the kids to celebrate how much reading you did throughout the school year. It was so much fun. I wish I had a poodle skirt and saddle oxfords (next year for sure)!! Rebekah, you looked so cute and I hope you will always remember these fun days of childhood!!

You with the best teacher on planet earth - Mrs. Callison!

You and Lauren doing the twist.

Mrs. Callison and the other teachers really got into the celebration and all the kids loved seeing their teachers dance!

You and Rachel doing the hand jive (or some "new" version of it anyway).

We had a blast dancing away to celebrate you reaching your AR goal!!

Mrs. Bell presented the 10 students with the highest points in 2nd grade. You had the most points and the next closest was not even 200 - so it is pretty outstanding how many points you got this year! So proud of you.

McKinney's Last Day and Water Day

McKinney - you have been looking forward to water day for several weeks. You were more excited about water day than graduation. You had a great time celebrating the last day of school with all your friends. What a cutie you are! I love your precious smile ~ it is contagious and makes me happy just to see that sweet look of childhood on your face.
Hannah, Gretta, Hayden & McKinney ~ your best buddies!!

You two boys were always making mischief together. You are great friends and really enjoyed this last day together.

When we pulled into the parking lot today, you about jumped out of the car when you saw this huge water slide. You were so excited. I am glad you got to enjoy the slide & I am glad I was there to capture the enjoyment in your face!!

Lunch back in the classroom was also fun. You had pizza and lots of treats that all the Mommies had sent in. Micah enjoyed the party as well!

Last moments with Mrs. Jackie & Mrs. Alejandra. We will always remember this year!

McKinney's Preschool Graduation

WOW - time really does fly. I thought you were going to stay in preschool forever. I always begged you in carpool line to stop growing up and you would always say "but Momma, I can't help it. Everyone grows up." I know this is true, but deep down I was hoping that it would last forever. But reality has set in and today you graduated from preschool at Celebration. You changed a lot over the 5 years you spent at that school. You have become a young man that Daddy and I are so proud of. I love you little guy & I am excited to see you excel in Kindergarten!!

Here you are walking in ~ they played Pomp and Circumstance and it brought tears to my eyes. Don't want to even think about the next time I see you marching in to that song ~ ugh!!

You sang great and really seemed to be enjoying yourself during the graduation program.

Here you are receiving your diploma.

You had great teachers ~ Mrs. Jackie and Mrs. Alejandra. They loved on you every day and really encouraged you to be the best boy you could possibly be. I will never forget the influence they have had on you!

Cuteness in the Craziness

I have learned that the end of the school year is my busiest time of the year. Between all the fun activities at the different schools we are on the go for three weeks before summer break begins. It is nice to have some "down" time during these busy times. Here are a few pictures of these "down" times.
McKinney doing a flip in his pj's ~ aka nothing but underwear!
Micah has discovered the dryer. He thought this was really fun ~ a roller coaster for babies perhaps!

All three of you love watching old Spiderman cartoons on youtube. I love that there is something you all enjoy watching!

Final AR Party for Rebekah

Rebekah, you had your last AR Hat Party today. You were the top AR point earner in the entire school this year. You worked so hard to reach your goal and even surpassed it by 20 points. You ended the year with 520 AR points. That is a lot of reading and I am most proud that you set a goal and then worked very hard to reach that goal.

Here is the video of Mrs. Callison announcing you outstanding achievement.

Mother's Day 2010

I love Mother's Day. You three sweeties, along with Daddy, always treat me like a queen. You are the best kids any mother could dream of having. Yes, you have your moments, but I am blessed beyond belief. One of the things I love on Mother's Day is celebrating all Mothers at our church. This is a special day for Mommies and I am glad I am in that elite group!
After church we had lunch with Gran and Grandad. It was fun to be with Gran on Mother's Day and try to brighten her day since she has been so busy taking care of Pawpaw. Rebekah, Gran loves seeing you and Kit in your matching clothes she buys you!

A rare picture of Daddy with his Mother.
After I enjoyed a nice, long Mother's Day nap you guys gave me my Mother's Day present.
Can you believe how cool that is? Wow - I must have been a really good Mom this year!!
So excited to ride my new bike!
