Rebekah in the News

Several weeks ago Rebekah came home from school and told me that she had written about Haiti in her writing journal. She said that when her teacher, Mrs. Callison, read it she took it to another teacher and they were so impressed that they were going to send it in to the paper. So, here it is - straight out of The Braselton News. The best part is that Rebekah often talks about being an author and so I explained to her that now she is published - this thrilled her. We are so proud of all that she accomplishes and her sincere love and concern for others as well!

Valentine's Day

The three cutest valentines ever.
Is she sassy or what? She loves having her picture taken, although it hasn't always been that way :(

Snow Day ~ Finally!!!

After many years of little to no snow at all - we finally got a really big snowfall!! It started on a Friday afternoon. These pictures were taken on Saturday. It was so cold the snow hung around on Saturday so we could enjoy it. Robbie got up very early and took the first few pictures as the sun was coming up. It is like a postcard.

This was taken from our front porch. The view was spectacular!

Here is the pool and backyard. Again, beautiful!

Here is the house from the backyard.

Sweet Micah didn't know what to think. The snow was so high it was difficult for him to walk. He loved the snow!

Snow angels...

McKinney enjoyed a snack of snow!

We enjoyed a wonderful walk through the neighborhood. Most of the neighborhood kids were out, so it was a fun time.

Father Daughter Dance & Snow Fun

So tonight was a very fun first for Robbie and Rebekah. Robbie took Rebekah to the Father Daughter Dance in Gainesville. Rebekah was so excited all day. She didn't want her daddy to see her until she was totally ready to go. She took great care in getting ready. She is our princess!

Today was the biggest snow we have had since living in this house for five years. They weren't sure if they were even going to be able to make it to the dance, but Daddy braved the treacherous roads and took his princess to the ball!!!

This was the Civic Center where the dance was held. Robbie snapped this picture and it was so pretty I had to include it.
It is our prayer that when Rebekah begins to date (when she's 30!!) she will remember how her Daddy treated her when he took her on dates. Robbie has set the standard so high that it will take a special guy to live up to them. We want Rebekah to expect every person she dates to treat her with the same amount of love, respect, and dignity that her Daddy does!
Once they got home Rebekah shed her "glass slippers" for her snow boots. She wanted to eat snow out of the glass water goblet she was given as a favor for attending the dance.

One last treat of the night - I had the hot tub ready for them when they got home. Rebekah could barely contain the excitement when I told her. We all had a blast with the snow falling around us. Rebekah said at one point, "I will never forget this night". So sweet!

Children Are a Gift From the Lord

There has to be no greater joy for a Daddy than to come out to a waiting room full of family and friends and announce the birth of his baby - especially when that crowd doesn't know if it is a boy or a girl. So much more exciting and fun not finding out what you are having. If you are pregnant - you really should try it!!!

Koltyn Rece Brewer - Born February 3 at 3:16 am and weighed 9 lbs. 9 oz. and was 21 inches long.

Proud Mama - she had four hours of labor and no sleep since 11:30 last night & still looks great for the camera!! I will probably always be a little jealous of how photogenic she is - LOL!!

Nothing like the face of a first time Daddy!!

First diaper change by the proud Papa!

Check out those hamhocks!!! This one may give Amberleigh a run for her money.
