Rebekah Rides the School Bus

After going the whole year in Kindergarten & dodging the "I want to ride the bus" request - I finally gave in & let Rebekah ride the bus last Thursday & Friday. She loved riding with her best friends Valerie & Lauren & her only complaints were that "it was loud & hot". I think she will be riding again this week!!!

More Family Fun

Last Saturday we were glad to have Robbie's family over for a fun day in the pool. His cousin, Kathy, her husband Bob & their three kids came from McDonough, as well as his Aunt Renee. His brother, sister & their families were also able to come. And of course, Gran & Grandad!! Rebekah & McKinney loved getting to swim with Grandad - a rare & special treat for them. Thanks everyone for coming - we loved having you all here. We missed you Keith & Lauren & hope you'll be able to come next year.

My Kids are the Bomb!!

Check out my awesome kids!!! They love to clean & I couldn't be happier about this. I always say I see my worst qualities in my kids, but I also see my best & this is certainly one of the best things they have picked up on from their OCD mamma!

Back to School!!!

Today was Rebekah's first day of 1st grade. This is an exciting milestone for her. She is most excited about starting in the Challenge program. She will be pulled out of her classroom for 50 min. each day to do more "challenging" work. She is also extremely excited that she will get to go back to her kindergarten teacher's class and read to the "little kids", as she calls them. Funny how 2 months of summer moves her out of the "little kid" category. We are thankful for the Lord's answered prayers, as she has again gotten a wonderful, Christian lady to teach her. When you read this blog please say a prayer for Mrs. Karen Taylor at West Jackson Primary School & how she will be leading & guiding Rebekah this year. On the way to pick Rebekah up McKinney informed me that he wanted to go to West Jackson Primary School tomorrow. Not so fast, little man, your day is coming soon enough!

Got Scarecrows?

The town of Hoschton is trying to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the most scarecrows in one town. There are hundreds of scarecrows lining the streets of Hoschton. This is extremely amusing & especially fun for children of all ages to get out & walk around & see the creativity that has gone into the making of these scarecrows. The official rules are that the scarecrows have to be handmade and not purchased in a retail store. I thought it would be fun to build a sense of community in the kids & make scarecrows to donate to the cause. On Tuesday the Segraves girls, and some other neighbors all came over to make scarecrows. The first few pictures are of some of the scarecrows in town & the rest are of our day of scarecrow making!! If you get a chance to drive through Hoschton & check out the scarecrows, you really should do it. Make sure to get out & walk around & look at them. They will be displayed through the end of September.
