Like Uncle, Like Nephew

Often times my son, McKinney, does something that so resembles something my brother would have done at 3 & it makes me seem as if I am 9 years old again watching David be totally crazy. In the background you can hear Rebekah laughing, which of course, only encourages him! This is one of those moments & it was caught on video. Enjoy!!

BTW - McKinney was supposed to be running & diving into the pool.

A Fun Birthday Party!

Thank you Valerie, Lauren, Mr. Russell & Mrs. Paula for a wonderfully fun Birthday Party today at Build A Bear. Thank you for inviting us & for being the best friends a family could ask for!

Apparantly McKinney thought the shirt was for him.

Micah really enjoyed the party!

Playgroup Reunion!

Today was a fun time for Mom & kids alike. We have been involved in a playgroup since Rebekah was a baby. All the mom's have been friends since before any of us had children. So today we got all the kids together again for the first time in awhile. Several Mom's came that have moved to other areas of Metro Atlanta. It was a fun time of reconnecting with old friends. We are so thankful for the friends God has given us & the memories that come with them!

A few older pictures - not the best quality, but cute nonetheless!

Micah is 4 months old

I can hardly believe Micah is four months old already. He is rolling over from his tummy to his back, laughing and smiling all the time & becoming more and more of a joy each & every day. We went to the doctor on Tuesday for his 4 month well child check & he is a BIG boy as well. He is 15 lbs. 8.5 oz, which is 75th percentile & is 26 in. long which is 90th percentile. He is bigger than either of the others at 4 months. It is also neat, because in the last two weeks everywhere I go people are telling me he looks like his Pop (Melanie's dad) and now it seems he may be as tall as Pop too. We love how Micah has fit into our family & couldn't imagine life without him!!!

I Will Never Let My Kids Do That!!

I have heard it said that "confession is good for the soul" so here goes. I always used to walk past that outdoor fountain at the mall and turn my nose up and say, "I will never let my kids play in that fountain." I thought it was so redneck. Well, today I let them do it. We met the Segraves girls there & they ran around & got wet & had a great time to boot!

The best part of the whole thing is the sign that is there. Keep in mind this is just a fountain.

Sock Puppets

At the end of the school year I promised the kids we would make sock puppets this summer. Of course they didn't forget this promise & I followed through on Monday. Here are some cute pictures & of course, another video!

Here is the sign at the "check in" station for the puppet show!

Here is a short video clip of the show itself!

McKinney Family Reunion

Today was a day we all look forward to all year long. Melanie's aunts, uncles, cousins, and their children, as well as her parents, siblings, and all their kids too come to our house for a pool party. We eat a lot, swim a lot & have a really wonderful time.

I love my sisters!

The Shoemaker kids

The Brewer babies

My cousin Amy & her daughter, Emma with my other cousin Logan & his daughter, Hollie.

Organized chaos in the kitchen!

Family Night at the Laser Show

There really isn't a better family outing in the summer in Metro Atlanta than the Stone Mountan Laser Show. For $8 you get into the park - if you bring your own food that is all it costs you. Well, unless your kids are anything like mine & want to buy one of those "light up thingies". Anyway, the kids loved it & it is building lifelong memories for them.

As you can see, McKinney really enjoyed his blue cupcake!

A wonderful time was had by all & we will definately do this again next year!!

Cow Obsession

Many of you may not know - but McKinney loves cows. He was a cow for Halloween last year and loves to wear his costume around the house (or anywhere I'll let him). Watch the video - it is hysterical!!

Friday was cow appreciation day at Chick-fil-A. If you came dressed as a cow you would get free food. We couldn't resist letting McKinney wear his cow costume out. Unfortunately he was pretty grouchy & didn't want his picture taken, but below is a great one of Rebekah and Micah.

NKOTB

Okay - this is totally random & completely unrelated to my family or my children, but did you know that NKOTB (New Kids on the Block) is coming to the Gwinnett Arena? This was the first "real" concert I attended as a "teeny bopper". Anyone interested?

Rebekah' Baptism

On Father's Day our prayers for Rebekah's salvation were answered when she asked Jesus into her heart. Yesterday she made her decision public through baptism. My brother, David, had the privilege of baptizing for the first time & baptized Rebekah. We are rejoicing with the angels in heaven over her precious soul being secured for eternity. Thank you Lord for many answered prayers!!

And, of course - the video!!
